Epoxy Floors
Epoxy flooring is a type of synthetic resin floor system that is laid on top of concrete substrates as a form of protection and decoration. It can be used in any commercial, residential and industrial site.
Epoxy floor gives customers the freedom to choose from a clear coating, decorative finish, metallic or a coloured option. We do recommend that a clear UV stabilising top-coat is applied to further protect the colour and overall longevity.
Epoxy is an affordable product that produces a low maintenance, resilient, heat and chemical resistance finish that is tailor-made to your needs.
Grind and Seal
Whether you have an existing concrete surface needing a refresh, a brand new slab, wanting to renovate or have an existing coating that needs to be removed, grind and seal could be the option for you. We take the surface and apply a sealer in either high or low gloss.
Typically, high gloss sealer produces a sleek glass like finish whereas low gloss is a more natural concrete look.Grind and seal can be undertaken in a range of domestic and industrial environments, not limited to garage floors, factories or restaurants as a long-lasting durable option.
Sealers are typically film-forming acrylic resins that can help protect against spalling, dusting, efflorescence, freeze-thaw damage, stains and abrasion. A sealer will also enhance the colour of the aggregate, accentuating its depth and richness.
Floor Levelling
Typically on new constructions when slabs are poured they are not flat or level and ultimately out of tolerance as a surface that will accept floorboards.
Melbourne Concrete Coatings pride themselves on bringing the floor to meet the Australian standard tolerance at 3mm over 3 metres. There are a few ways we achieve this;
- Grind the high spots and fill the low spots with self-leveller or;
- Using a laser to a specified point the heights are marked. Self-leveller is then applied to achieve a flat and level floor.
A flat or level floor is important to minimise the risk of bouncing and creaking floorboards.
